Art Supplies

These are just a few suppliers that I've used, or friends have recommended. If you have recommendations please feel free to share.

Most of these products can be purchased from the suppliers mentioned above.

  1. Thanks for posting these. I remember starting out before the internet and the only option I had was a local hobby store that sold Arches watercolor paper for $15 a sheet. Thanks to another artist I got on catalog mailing lists and could buy watercolor paper for $3.09 a sheet if I bought 25 sheets. I quickly overcame my fear of painting on watercolor paper.

  2. You're welcome and thank you for your suggestions.
Unfortunately there can be a lot of misinformation out there too. Years back I wanted to do a really large piece on paper. I had one professor tell me that you have to glue sheets together. I had another "friend" tell me the only way to get large sheets was by making your own paper. It just so happened he was into making paper. I finally asked another professor and she told me about buying paper in rolls. Surely the other suggestions would work, but it wasn't what I was looking for. It's all a learning process & I think more experienced artists should be more forthcoming with information to help the new guy. In turn the new guy shouldn't be afraid to ask questions. We can all help each other and learn from each other.
